Product Description

Being Respectful is a social skills program that focuses on teaching students skills related to behaving respectfully toward others. Frequently, students with social skills and behavioral needs have difficulty being respectful toward peers and authority figures. Besides driving the teachers crazy, it is a very important life skill to display respectful behavior. The Being Respectful program includes:

  • Over 55 colorful and engaging google slides
  • 5 printable worksheets
  • 27 activity cards
  • 2 self-monitoring scales
  • Group activities and linked articles
  • Slide notes to assist with instruction
  • A 20 question final exam with answer key
  • Access Program through google slides or a PDF file

The program includes the following topics:

  • Differences between respect and behaving respectfully
  • "Why" behaving respectfully is important (e.g. jobs, relationships)
  • Respectful verbal and nonverbal behavior
  • Respectful behavior toward authority figures
  • Respectful behavior toward peers in person and on social media
  • Distinctions between respectful behavior, disrespectful behavior, mean teasing, friendly teasing, and bullying
  • A focus on the importance of respectful behavior in work environments
  • Respectful behavior toward others when they have a different opinion or point of view

A focus on this program is teaching "why" respectful behavior is important in order to increase motivation to learn the topic. Students will have a blast engaging in the various activities, and will have a much better understanding of respectful behavior after finishing this program. Students with IEPs, and/or behavior goals frequently need an instructional component to their program related to their goal. These materials will provide hours of instruction!

After purchasing this product, download a PDF file with easy instructions and link to the google slides and other materials.

Thanks so much for looking at the "Being Respectful" social skills program!
