This lesson includes 14 pages total designed for social skills instruction for improving student’s ability to use what they see to understand social situations and to begin to improve the ability read social cues and situations. This can be used by itself or in conjunction with other social skills programs or lessons.

In order to be able to use this lesson in full, you need to be able to access the internet and be able to view videos on www.youtube.com because the “thinking detective” activities each link to a video for students to watch.

Included:
Letting your Eyes do the Thinking color visual

5 worksheets that each include 2 photos for students to examine what the person is doing with their eyes. This allows the students to think with their own eyes to figure out what the person in the photo is thinking about and what they may do next.

Thinking Detective color visual

5 Thinking Detective worksheets---students will watch a video (all videos under 3 min, 10 sec). You will pause the video at key moments for students to identify clues. They will then write down clues they gather from using their eyes and then make a smart guess about what the character in the video may do next.
Videos do have sound and two have talking. You may choose to show video first without sound and then with sound if needed.
