Product Description
This presentation contains a 34 slide PowerPoint lesson in editable PPT format including, a cross culture quiz activity, work sheets and teacher’s notes.
This lesson is a part of two lessons exploring the subject of hospitality from two points of view, that of the guest and that of the host.
Hospitality is a cultural pitfall with endless official behavioral rules and even more unofficial ones. Every culture and the subcultures within it have their own unique codes just waiting for us to stumble over and fall.
In this lesson we discuss hospitality from the guest’s point of view. It encourages the student to compare their own cultural guest experience with that of other countries.
The cross-culture quiz activity at the end of the lesson is about behavioral codes and cultural expectations from guests in different countries.
This lesson is created for ESL students (teen and adult) of intermediate pre-intermediate and advanced levels.

This lesson includes:
- Comparing today’s hospitality to past hospitality
- Memorable dinner parties
- formal receptions
- Gift bringing
- Being a guest at someone’s house in another country
- Types of hosts
- Dealing with embarrassing situations as a guest
- “Hospitality in different cultures” A cross culture quiz

I hope you enjoy this lesson.

The products in this shop are all produces by a dyslexic teacher (hence the name).
I’m painfully aware of the contradiction in my choice of profession, but I can honestly say (after 25 years of teaching ESL classes) that there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.
Much like other challenged individuals who go through life with one hand tied behind their backs, I make up for what I lack with abundant research, high quality graphics, humor, passion and love.
I own every ‘correcting program’ available on the market and my lessons are proof read by wonderful, kind (and slightly horrified) TPT teachers, BUT there are always some errors that slip by us.
If you feel offended by the existence of errors in what is supposed to be a teaching tool…
If you are an open minded individual, that can except the possibility that you might find errors in the product that you are about to buy (you get a free product if you send me the errors to correct), then this product is for you and I hope it delivers everything you hoped for and more, along with my gratitude.
