Belief Systems 5-Day Unit: Monotheistic & Polytheistic Religions Print & Digital

This bundle of no-prep lessons with introduce your students to Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Animism and Taoism. They include differentiation such as modified handouts and read aloud option, group work, primary source documents and digital activities. Answer Keys are included where appropriate.

All slide presenations are editable.

THE LESSONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Day 1: Polytheistic Belief Systems: Editable slides walk you through this overview lesson. There is a group work component, reading passags and a student handout.

DAY 2: Religions of Ancient India: Student choice lesson on Hinduism and Buddhism with PowerPoint, readings and student handout

DAY 3: Ancient China Belief Systems: students analyze Confucian quotes

DAY 4: Monotheistic Religions: Slide presentation, graphic organizer and a video

DAY 5: Review Lesson: PowerPoint covers all the main points of each religion and includes discussion questions, students compelte a graphic organizer and a Venn Diagram.

These lessons are designed for a single 50-minute period and are appropriate for 6-9 grade

What is and is not editable?

The slides are editable. The student handouts are PDFs and not editable. The digital version of the student handouts are also not editable (other than adding a textbox over existing text)

Who is this resource NOT appropriate for?

This lesson is probably too difficult for elementary students and may be too easy for AP level 10th-12th graders.
