Teach logical reasoning through bell ringers for middle school students. They are an easy win for those daily warm-ups or for early finishers.
Get your students thinking analytically and logically with these fun, no-prep logic puzzles! These aren't the same old 'logic grid' puzzles you've seen before. Students will need to test hypotheses and evaluate whether four logical propositions are true or false as they try to defeat the dragon and find the gold.
This collection contains purely black and white activity pages that can be displayed on a smartboard or overhead projector so the entire class can solve them together! In-depth answers are included at the end of the resource, so explaining and wrap-up are super simple!
Bell Ringers You Can Edit
This set of bell-ringers is fully editable. All fonts used in this collection of puzzles are linked, so you can download them and use them in your edits if you wish.
This resource contains four puzzles that will help your students practice concepts in deductive logic such as interpreting 'either/or' statements and reasoning by contradiction as they try to figure out which door leads to the gold and which door leads to a dragon.
Detailed explanations of the logic used to solve the puzzles are included, so it also works as a mini-lesson in logical reasoning.
You can display them for the entire class on a smart board or overhead projector;
split your students into pairs or small groups to work on together;
or print these bell ringers out as individual worksheets for your early finishers. These puzzles are great for teaching logical reasoning in a fun format, so they work just as well for a group activity as for an individual.
