In a perfect world, we would have relevant bell-ringers and exit slips that address our individual standards at our fingertips. However, it takes a lot of time to either hunt for them or create them ourselves. Therefore, I have created this document in an effort to SAVE YOU TIME!
This document contains 5 bell-ringers and 5 exit slips over point of view so that you can easily start your class periods with an independent assignment and wrap up your daily lessons with a quick assessment when teaching point of view. For those who prefer to use class time a bit differently, the bell-ringers work perfectly as mini-lessons.
One of the best features of these lessons is that three of the five bell-ringers or mini-lessons contain a link to a video on YouTube, corresponding story, and questions. This is great for DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION and will really help students SEE and HEAR the difference between 1st, 3rd person limited, and 3rd person omniscient points of view.
Throughout these lessons, students will review and be assessed over their knowledge of 1st, 3rd person limited, 3rd person omniscient, objective, and subjective points of view. The assignments contain multiple choice questions, a comparison task, a constructed response question, and writing tasks in which students apply their knowledge of point of view.
