Hello teacher friends! I am one of the many teachers who is teaching the new and exciting Benchmark Advance program. While I am very impressed with this rich, rigorous, and well-balanced literacy curriculum, I do feel that it presents some challenges for our struggling learners who need to be able see the directions and prompts for the reading mini-lessons.
These Benchmark Advance Reading Mini-Lesson Booklets will give your students access to the directions and prompts for the reading mini-lessons. Each booklet addresses the reading skills for a particular week, but the response tasks are designed to be done in the booklets and/or in a STUDENT WRITING NOTEBOOK. This cuts down on paper copies and teaches the students to use their writing notebook or journals to record their thinking and responses to the lesson skills.
