Do you ever feel like you spend a significant amount of time testing students and walk away feeling like you've hardly accomplished a thing? Rid yourself of that feeling and make your time count. The resources included in this product will help you articulate who your student is as a reader after completing Fountas and Pinnell's Benchmark Assessment. It includes the following:
-Benchmark Assessment Summary Sheet: This is where you record what you learned about each student after finding their highest instructional reading level on the Benchmark Assessment. It includes areas for you to record notes about each student's reading motivation, miscue analysis, fluency, self-correction ratio, and comprehension.
-How to Use the Benchmark Assessment Summary Sheet: This sheet will give you the language needed to articulate your students' reading abilities in solving words, reading fluency, and within, beyond, and about comprehension of the text.
-Reading Motivation Level Chart: The chart has a 1-10 rating scale with smiley faces that correlate to how the student feels about themselves as a reader. The chart is a visual to use to help prompt and discuss their reading motivation and self perception about themselves as a reader.
-Finding Highest Instruction Benchmark Level: This quick-reference chart is perfect to keep on your clipboard as you're performing the benchmark. It gives a correlation chart so you know when to move up or down based on a student's reading accuracy and comprehension. It also gives quick and easy steps for how to find a student's self-correction ratio.

This product will help you administer Fountas and Pinnell's Benchmark Assessment to your students. If you are required to give the benchmark, but have had little professional development to help you understand how or why, this product is for you. Shift your thinking from simply doing the test to find a level to doing the test to know how to best instruct each student in your classroom to improve his/her reading across the course of a school year.
