This benchmark fractions task card set is great for giving your students plenty of practice identifying benchmark fractions in everyday life. There are 28 task cards and two different options for an answer sheet. I have also included an answer key.
Here are some suggestions for using these task cards:
-Hang the cards around the room and have kids go from card to card marking down their answers on the answer sheet.
-Print several sets of cards for teams to work on together.
-“JUMP SEAT”: Put one card on each kiddo’s desk (placing them in number order as much as possible). Students record the corresponding answer of the card on their desk to the number on their answer sheet. For example if Devin has number 7 on his desk he will put the answer on the number 7 blank on the answer sheet. When the kiddos have had enough time say “jump”. Then Devin would move to the desk that has number 8 and answer that question. When the kids have had enough time, say “jump”, and Devin would move to the desk that has the number 9, and so on. This keeps one child per card at a time. It’s really important to pass out the cards in an easy to follow number order. This method can be nice when you have a class that needs more structure.
