This is an incredibly low prep free resource that helps students practice comparing and contrasting within informational text in a fun way.

Students will read two comprehension passages about famous inventors - one on Benjamin Franklin, and another on Thomas Edison. After answering reading comprehension comprehension questions on the two informational texts and filling in a chart using information from the passages, students will have a snowball fight or complete a scavenger hunt. This is a fun way for students to practicing comparing and contrasting, an easy way for you to assess their learning, and a great way to integrate social studies and reading within your ELA class.

This is a fun whole class compare and contrast activity for third grade, fourth grade, or fifth grade students. The inventor reading passages and chart can be used in small groups, for homework, for additional practice, or with partners.
