In this zipped bundle the teacher is provided with five ready-to-use novel studies created by Jean Martin and designed for 4th-7th grade students who are reading any or all of the books in the Benjamin Pratt & the Keepers of the School series written by Andrew Clements. The titles in that series are We the Children, Fear Itself, The Whites of Their Eyes, In Harm's Way, and We Hold These Truths. (Note: the actual texts written by Andrew Clements are not included in this packet.)

Skills addressed in each of the student booklets support Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for both reading and writing and include vocabulary, comprehension, interpreting expressions, inferring, compare & contrast characters, point of view, and writing crafts (simile, metaphor, idiom) and more. Students are given opportunities to write both long and short responses and do independent research.

Andrew Clements begins his Keepers of the School series with a story that is full of suspense.
