Beowulf Active Reading Guide

I use Active Reading Guides in my high school English and middle school reading classes for all of the stories we delve into together. These guides serve a variety of purposes but I generally use them to connect the literary idea we are working with to the story, to provide a guide for the students during their reading, and to assess comprehension and connections made while reading.

At first, my students found the guides to be a little daunting, but with time, they began to rely on them - not as a crutch but as a way of delving deeper into the readings.
