Beowulf is a must-read classic text in the British Literature curriculum. This is a series of activities designed to encourage close analysis through annotations, literary analysis, syntax practice, and creative writing. The activities build upon one another, leading students to first analyze an excerpt and then model their own writing after the excerpt. It includes three excerpts, each with four activities that require students to consider character, mood, and point of view. These could be used a bellringers, homework, or class assignments.
