Product Description
This is a bell-ringer activity to target simple versus compound sentence structure using a sentence from Beowulf. Students will make observations about the sentence and then write the grammar rules. Then, they will go back to previous writing and make edits as needed.

I will typically also take students through diagramming the entire sentence on the SmartBoard before we move onto the other steps. This way we are constantly reviewing the parts of speech and the sentence structure.
