-Introduction to Beowulf PPT (20 slides) overview of plot, manuscript history and literary devices.
-Beowulf Battles PPT (17 slides)- Reading questions for the three major battles; -Beowulf vs. Grendel, Beowulf vs. Grendel’s Mother, Beowulf vs. the Dragon. Storyboard activity for the Beowulf and Grendel battle includes student examples.
-Supplemental Beowulf (13 slides) includes an Anglo-Saxon Newspaper writing assignment that can be differentiated between Honors/AP/Regular classes. Includes student examples. Additional slides include reading questions over John Gardener’s Grendel for a comparative analysis (questions and text included). Reading questions over two academic essays, “The Structural Unity of Beowulf: The Problem of Grendel's Mother,” by Jane Nitzsche (Chance) and “Why Read Beowulf?” by Robert Yeager.
-Blood Feud (4 slides) a summary of the feuds throughout the novel between the Geats and the Swedes, student chart out the battles and invasions. Student examples included.
-Beowulf Video Game is a proper video game where teams sail the sea to battle the monsters in the poem and collect valor to aid them in their battles.
