A fun effect based on air pressure and Bernoulli’s principle that can be performed in the classroom or at a restaurant! The trick uses only a cup of water and two straws, but there is some serious science behind the spraying water. Give your students a chance to try it themselves (what fun!) and then assign the labeled diagram which can be a stand-alone assignment or incorporated into a laboratory notebook. All the science behind the effect is explained and the grading rubric for the diagram is provided.
