PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This journal is a great way to tie writing into science. This journal is part of the 1st grade Listening and Learning Domain 8, Animals and Habitats.

This journal can be worked on over a period of 4 days and includes a day by day label at the bottom of each page to help with pacing and organization. This journal address numerous 1st grade CCSS.

Students are asked to label the parts of a Betta fish and draw and label a Betta fishes habitat. Other pages include a space for students to draw their observations and also write about their observations. Students are asked about what a Betta fish does in its habitat, what happens when its habitat is changed and what happens when a male Betta fish sees another male Betta fish. Students also complete a Venn Diagram to compare/contrast a male and female Betta fish.

I have also included a page with just lines. Feel free to use this page how you would like. I have chosen to print a few of these pages and add them to the packet to encourage students to write more in their observations.
