"Beware the Ides of March" Anticipation Activity for The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare
This activity is a great introduction to William Shakespeare's "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar". Students will find answers about the Feast of the Lupercal (Lupercalia), in which the play opens and Caesar gets his first warning to "Beware the Ides of March." The next activity is finding information about the term "ides," and Caesar's warning. Allows students to connect compare both Lupercalia & Caesar's warning to today's Valentine's Day & fortune telling.
Answer key is included and as an added bonus, a "Did You Know" list of interesting Caesar facts & cartoons relating to Caesar & Shakespeare's play.
