On May 17, 1954, in its decision in Brown v. Board of Education, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the doctrine of “separate but equal,” ending legal segregation in American education. Beyond Brown: Pursuing the Promise pursues the answer to the question; "Fifty years later, how close is America to fulfilling the promise of Brown?"

This documentary is a great visual for Civics, African American Studies and or Cultural Studies. Video notes will allow students to follow along and remain engaged as they take in valuable content.
