With all the gloom and doom on the globe, I decided to unearth some "good news countries" in a variety of regions. There is a lot we can learn by investigating countries with a myriad of problems. However, there is also a lot we can learn from countries, which are not the wealthiest in their region, yet have achieved a certain amount of success. These countries never get on the front page of the newspaper, and we, therefore, know very little about them.
This power point on Bhutan is one of a series. Here are the other ones:
1) Oman (in Middle East) 2) Botswana (in sub-Saharan Africa)
3) Finland (in W Europe) 4) Costa Rica (in Central America) You can access 4 of them at a discounted price by going to "unique countries" on my TpT site: 21 st Century Global Studies.
These power points will involve the students in answering the question: what makes this countries so successful? This lends itself to groups of 3 discussions.
