PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this project students have the chance to brainstorm who they think that they are, and compare their ideas with what the Bible tells them they are in Jesus. Students will completely explore their identity in Jesus based on Biblical truths.

Part One: Who I Am
The lesson opens with a discussion of who students are, using one of two graphic organizers. Students work with simple descriptors to allow a big “ah-ha” moment when they see just how much more God has created them to be!

Part Two: Who God Says I Am
The point of this lesson is to guide students into seeing themselves as much more than their accomplishments and abilities. Students (and teachers!) are much more than what they can do, what they have accomplished, or what they are “good at”. Our identity can be found as children of God. Use the Bible verse task cards to change each verse into a statement about who we are in Christ.

Part Three: Who God Says I Am Art Project
This project is parts art, craft, and shape poem. Using a fine black marker students will write statements about who God says they are onto the light lines.

Part Four: Reflection
Guide students to reflect on how their view on themselves, and God’s view of themselves were the same or different. How does God see them? Should this change anything when they are interacting with others? Give time for students to thank God for the way that they have been made.
