How many times have you participated in a Bible study where one person did all the talking while the others listened, nodded, or simply did not know what to say? Well, brace yourself because you are about to experience a program that gets everyone involved in one way or another. This unique Bible study is based on a task-centered approach to understanding the scriptures. Participants simply rotate a list of 9 'jobs' (with quirky titles) that are assigned each week. Students who have heard the same Bible stories a hundred times before now see and understand with new eyes when they apply the principles used in this study. It works well in small as well as large groups because jobs are easily adjusted to a range of students. High school age as well as adults can benefit from this program. It can be used in a formal school setting, church bible study groups, youth ministry, or as an adult study. It is fun, active, and unique with the added advantage of bringing participants closer to Christ as biblical themes emerge and are applied to daily life. The student-led approach minimizes the role of teacher, demonstrates new analytical strategies, shows students how to share their own perspective, and builds excitement as they see that the method actually works when all come together to share their small piece of the whole puzzle. This format can be applied to any Gospel stories. It is recommended for New Testament only.
