This non-cumulative final exam covers the New Testament only, which is covered in the second half of my Bible as Literature course. If you are interested in creating a cumulative final exam, I suggest also downloading my midterm Old Testament exam, and including some of the questions from that exam on this final exam.
This exam sheet includes an answer key for the identifications but not for essays, as essay questions are meant to be open-ended. That said, the IDs are also a bit open-ended as well, since students are also asked to identify significance of the passages. The "answers" I provided here are examples, but certainly good answers are not limited to these responses.
My answer-key material is written in green font, for your convenience.
Features and Format of the Exam:
Part I: Identification: Students identify the character(s) and stories of the passages included. The students choose 5 out of 7 identification questions, leaving the other 2 blank. (5 IDs, 10 points each = 50 points)
Part II: Essay Question: The student chooses an essay topic (choice of 9). (Essay question counts for a total of 50 points.)
IDs = 50 points (50%); Essay = 50 points (50%) for a total of 100 points.
Note on Length: The actual exam sheet you will give to students is 2 pages long, so it is easy to distribute on one sheet, printed front and back. The version included here with the answer key is 4 pages long.
