There were many important conversations in the Bible. Can you recall one? Can your students? Now, can students translate that conversation into modern-day terms, while still maintaining the integrity of the conversation? AND what if that conversation took place via text?
In this activity, students will modernize a biblical conversation by displaying it as a text conversation on an iphone. This activity will be fun for your students and make a great presentation and bulletin board. My students had great fun with it. I had them act it out similar to the Sprint commercial with Malcolm McDowell and James Earl Jones! It was a blast!
This 7-page packet contains everything you need to make this a success in your classroom. You'll receive:
-iphone printable for students
-sample iphone conversation (Jesus Calms the Storm)
-2 project explanation pages with choice of 2 grading rubrics
-printable in which students will, in their best writing, explain the text conversation. We hung these next to the iphones on the bulletin board.
-Teacher Notes Page (explains how the project worked in my classroom, options for you, and link to the Sprint commercial for you to visualize.)
I hope you have as much fun with this in your room as we did in ours!! It can be used at any time of the year!
