This is an overview of the twelve minor prophetic books in the Bible, Hosea-Malachi. I use this in my high school Old Testament course so it is mostly suited to high school, though one could adapt it to middle school.
This includes 3 slides for each prophet:
1. An overview slide with the audience, date [pre-, mid-, or post-exile], and a one-word theme of the book
2. A "To Know" page, which includes major themes/ideas unique to each book
3. A "Jesus In ________" slide, which shows how this Old Testament minor prophet points ahead to Jesus.
Please preview the sample to see what it is like!
Although I use this in Old Testament, it would be useful for a general religion class or a Bible overview course. It does not include the Apocryphal books but could be used in a Catholic class. Theologically this is very factual - it does not have a slant toward a specific denomination.
This is a great companion to my overview lesson plan
and the major prophets Powerpoint
The fonts I used are IndyPimp for the titles and CF Jack Story for the body text. Both are free to download and use from dafont.com. You can use whatever fonts you would like, but if you want the display to look exactly like the thumbnail, you need to download and install those fonts - otherwise Powerpoint will change the fonts used.
I used Jim Le Page's Bible graphics
when I used it in class. I have not included those as they are not mine to sell. Feel free to find your own graphics or use those for each book.
NEW: Now including "Twitter Profile Drawings" for each book. These are a synthesis of new research and the previous slides. This is how I teach the prophets now!
