This is a 2-day unit. It is entirely in French. The film has a suggested PG-13 rating due, in large part, to some swearing.
I designed this entire unit to take place after the students have learned the conditional, but it also includes a lot of review with passé composé vs. imparfait (both in reading and in writing).
I divided the film into two days, and the whole thing takes about 1 hr. 41 min.
This zip file includes:
-a 3-page handout for Day 1 AND an answer key*
-a 3-page handout for Day 2 AND an answer key*
-a 2-page document with conversation questions for each day (all use upper-level grammar : si clauses, conditional, futur simple, imparfait....)
-a 1-page review of the tenses required to do the movie guide
*The only things NOT included in the answer keys are the summary and prediction sections since those will vary from student to student, and I like making the summaries together as a class.
The sections for each daily handout of the movie include the following :
-Part 1 is 10 multiple choice questions, focusing on reading in the PC and IMP
-Part 2 requires students to use the PC/IMP to write about what happened that day in the movie
-Part 3 requires students to predict the next day's segment using the future (simple ou proche, depending on where you're at)
-Part 4 requires students to translate sentences (things that happened in the movie) from English to French, but first they have to decide which tense to use, and if they use the PC, they need to choose between AVOIR and ETRE and write down the past participle.
All files are Word docs, so they are 100% editable!
