The Big 20 is a great way to monitor student’s progress throughout the school year. It is a common core aliened assessment that measures the most important computational skills a student should know by the end of the year.

What you need to know

• The assessment should be given biweekly.
• There are four different forms that should be rotated.
• This is a yearlong progress assessment, so mastery may occur at intervals throughout the year.
• It should not be used as a grade.
• Students should set goals and record their data on the graph provided.
• It is optional to give students a 20-minute time limit.

Big 20’s are available for all grades K-5.
