**BEST SELLING ITEM** This PowerPoint lesson introduces each step of the "Big 6"--which is a research process for students in grade 3 and up.
After each step has been discussed, the class begins a group research project using whatever topic your class agrees on.
The Big 6 is a great guideline for students so that they don't get lost in the complex process of research. This gives them a plan to follow so that they can be more successful. Note-taking skills are also taught using the RAP strategy (R ead a paragraph/page, A sk yourself questions about what you read, P ut information in your own words)
This project could take several weeks depending on how often you work on research with students. If you work on it daily, you could probably finish within one week. If you see your students weekly (like a library media specialist), this will probably take at least three weeks.
