This is a differentiated approach to the traditional book report. The foldable creates a small book with a cover page and seven pages for information from one sheet of paper!
This Packet includes:
-Student directions for each page
-Rubric to be completed by the student and the teacher
This project is aligned to the Common Core Standards and requires higher level thinking skills to analyze literature students have read independently or in literature circles.
Skills covered are:
-Writing an effective introduction
-Summarize the plot
-Describe the setting
-Determine the central idea/theme
-Identify the protagonist/antagonist
-Determine the genre
The limited space forces students to provide the most important parts of the plot. They are also expected to explain WHY the information they provided is important or give specific details, implied or stated, that support their statements.
This is really fun, challenging, and valuable project for middle school students.
