Most ELA, Math and Science teachers don't have more than 100

Note: this Lesson does NOT involve or require Avogadro's Number or Constant for calculation; instead, the intention here is to acquaint & familiarize students with the mole so that they treat it no differently than a dozen (e.g. 3 dozen H2O molecules contains 6 dozen Hydrogen atoms and 3 dozen Oxygen atoms; similarly, 3 moles of H2O molecules contains 6 moles of Hydrogen atoms and 3 moles of Oxygen atoms).

Students will:

1) Analyze the two chemical species 8 Molecules & 8 Moles of KAl(SO4)2 and 3 Molecules & 3 Moles of (NH4)2Cr2O7, then Calculate AND show their work in 4 Data Tables for the number of:
K atoms
moles of K atoms
Al atoms
moles of Al atoms
S atoms
moles of S atoms
O atoms
moles of O atoms
N atoms
moles of O atoms
H atoms
moles of H atoms
Cr atoms
moles of Cr atoms
O atoms
moles of O atoms
plus
Total atoms
and
moles of Total atoms
2) Fill-in a total of 38 cells in 4 Data Tables
3) Be compelled to present their work in a neat & orderly format
4) Be trained to comprehend and calculate atoms and moles of atoms methodically & systematically
