With this entirely bilingual alphabet, you will be able to support your English Language Learners, Spanish Language Learners and Dual Language classrooms with higher efficiency and success!
This alphabet set has been created using cognates, bright and engaging pictures and color coded frames for sound support. Additionally, you will also find wall cards for long vowels and soft sounds of the letter c & g as well as ch, ll and ñ.
All of the words in this bundle are cognates so the spelling and sound are similar across languages. Only exceptions include long vowel sounds in English, and words with ll and ñ.
I have color coded each letter to represent sounds and help your students make better connections.
- Purple frames: the sounds are the same in English and in Spanish. For instance lemon and limón.
-Blue or red frames: reminds students that the letter makes a different sound in English (blue) and Spanish (red). For instance, like the H in helicopter and helicóptero.
However, if you are not interested in this method, I have also included a set without color coded frames, all letters have a purple frame.
MULTIPLE OPTIONS FOR DISPLAY
Set 1: Includes color coded frames, with images only.
Set 2: Includes color coded frames, with images and vocabulary in both languages
Set 3: Includes no color coded frames (all purple) with images and vocabulary.
Use these with your students as an alphabet chart, wall cards, vocabulary walls, sorting activities, sound maps, reinforcement or any other form of intervention to support making connections as your bridge English and Spanish.
