This engaging and multicultural mini- book is just right for emergent readers to practice sight words and build fluency. The repetitive text is easy to master, teaches an important lesson about friendship, and provides a natural transition to the included extension writing activity.

This would make a great lesson during guided reading, whole group reading, writing instruction, or even Social Studies. (I use it as one of my Valentine’s reads.)

An original student mini-book, ready to copy, and easy to assemble (We placed two student pages on each 8x11 sheet, to save on copies.)

A student writing page that builds upon the content and word work of the story, with sentence starters and a word bank right on the page - a English version and a Spanish version.
