English and Spanish visual supports for teaching inferences, question prompts, and 20 practice sheets for making inferences with picture cues in each language. Each practice sheet contains two pictures and a statement. Students are to identify which picture goes best with the statement, then justify their response by identifying evidence from the pictures and explaining what information they used from their background knowledge (schema) to make the inference. One blank practice sheet is included for open-ended use.
Use the blank lines below the pictures to write or as cues to discuss the question prompts:
What clues do I see? (evidence)
What do I know about the clues? (schema)
What conclusions can I make? (inference)
