This PowerPoint presentation charts Bill Clinton's two terms as president. It begins with the election of 1992 highlighting the impact of the economy and H. Ross Perot. It then quickly covers the highlights of his eight years in office. In doing so it discusses the following: "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," David Koresh and Waco, the Oklahoma City bombing, attempts at health care reform, including Hillary Clinton's role, the Brady Bill, NAFTA, the Oslo Accords, the Contract with America and the 1994 midterm election, the federal government shutdown, the 1996 presidential election, NATO's involvement in Yugoslavia, the Lewinsky scandal and Clinton's impeachment. It concludes with a brief account of the 2000 election including the Supreme Court's decision in Bush v. Gore. This presentation is used in an AP United States history class and is based on Chapter 41 of The American Pageant, 14th edition.
