This activity is designed to reinforce the congressional bill to law process. After learning the steps in which Congress passes a law, this activity will help students put it all together by walking through the steps to pass a fictional gun control act. There are 15 steps, from identifying the problem, to committee action, to the conference committee, etc. and students must work together to identify the correct order. This activity can also be used as an informal assessment to see how well students are learning the bill to law process. I usually make this a competition and the first team to identify the correct order gets some kind of a reward. The product comes with the student handout, as well as a key for the teacher.
