This activity is a relevant and thorough look at the seven most common types of figurative language: SIMILE, METAPHOR, PERSONIFICATION, ALLITERATION, ONOMATOPOEIA, HYPERBOLE, and IDIOM.
The resource requires students to listen to/read the lyrics of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." They are then required to identify figures of speech within the song and explain their answers. I've found this to work very well as a partner-activity.
