Active learning puzzle task disguised as a fun activity. There are 35 words for students to find. There are character names, locations, and key vocabulary with which students should be familiar to discuss and analyze the plot of Billy Elliot.
Students will enjoy this activity. In addition to finding words in the grid, there are two sneaky add-on tasks. You will probably only use one of these. Students are asked to write a new sentence for each name or place, explaining its importance in the movie. The second task asks them to write a summary of the plot using the words from the list. Both tasks aim to ensure that students understand the words and what they mean in the film.
This is the type of resource that could be used as a homework assignment, for a substitute teacher, or as class work on occasions when you need a filler, and have nothing prepared.
