What educators are saying
Description
Do you have students that are not ready to complete binder activities? Do you have students that struggle with task completion? Do you have students that struggle with basic matching skills? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the bundle for your classroom!
Binder activities are so wonderful for students, but not all students are ready to complete them due to: poor scanning skills, poor discrimination skills, poor matching skills, inability to complete a multiple step task, etc. This binder includes 3 levels so that students can practice ALL of these skills with just ONE binder!
Level 1: Students are working on matching a single icon to an identical icon from a field of one. Students are removing the picture on the left, to match it to the identical picture on the right. This levels also teaches students to put an icon on a designated location, which will in turn assist them to later complete more complex binders, task cards, etc. THIS LEVEL IS "ERRORLESS."
Level 2: Students are working on matching a single icon to an identical icon from a field of two (the second picture is a blank icon). Students must select the icon with a picture on it and match it to the identical picture on the right. This level builds on the previous level, but this level introduces scanning and discrimination. We want to make sure students are looking at the icons and selecting the one with the image.
Level 3: Students are working on matching a single icon to an identical icon from a field of two (The second picture is a different icon of the same category. For example, if the student is matching a pig, the second icon may be a dog.) Students must discriminate between the two icons and select the correct icon to match to the identical picture on the right.
You will set up this binder once, and it can be used to work on all three levels. Set up directions are included in the product.
There are 5 topics included: Animals, Colors, Transportation, Food, and Furniture.
What is Needed?
-A mini binder (8 1/2 x 5 1/2)
This binder can also be used to help students work on task completion (learning that once they finish one page, they need to turn the page and begin working on the second page) or as a pre-requisite skill for schedule following (learning how to turn pages, attend to the picture on the page, etc).
