Assigning homework over a long weekend or holiday is always tricky.
How much is too much?
How do you prevent your students from losing momentum?
What will parents think of their children having homework over the holiday?
All of these problems can be solved with BREAK BINGO. I pass out the BINGO board to my students on the last day before the break. This is an optional assignment in my classroom. They have the entire break to complete as much (or as little) of the BINGO board as possible. I usually offer an incentive for a “black out” board or for each BINGO students complete. These are always due the day students come back from vacation.
