Bingo is a theme and variation for students to learn about this musical genre.
The theme is presented, followed by 5 variations, each containing various musical elements to teach, learn and play.
Included music elements:
*triplet eighth notes
*cut time, 4/4, 3/4
*repeat sign with 1st and 2nd ending
*variety of dynamics with crescendo and diminuendo
*optional more demanding notes (low C# - high G)
*chord symbols for the theme
Teachers can encourage students to attempt their choice of variations to match their playing abilities, catering for as many student ability levels in the classroom.
Chord symbols are provided for the theme for accompaniment purposes on piano and/or guitar, or GarageBand auto chord accompaniment. You can easily modify it for the 3/4 variations.
All accidentals (except for the basic key signature) can be played or left out depending on the students' abilities with G#, D# and C# - bracketed.
According to Wikipedia, Bingo was composed in 1780!
Tech idea: have students create a backup accompaniment track on GarageBand both in cut time, 4/4 and 3/4.
