There are two powerpoint presentations each with their own set of dedicated notes with differentiation for various student levels.
The first powerpoint and guided notes set is for CHNOPS: Elements of Life. It begins with the atom, chemical bonding and the elements of life (CHNOPS: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, sulfur). The cycles of the elements are also presented.
The second power point is for the Biochemistry of biomolecules. Students will learn the foundation for biomolecules by learning about monomers, polymers, dehydration synthesis and hydrolysis. THey will then learn the characteristics of each biomolecule group including composition, energy, polarity, and nomenclature. There are examples of monomer and polymers for each group.
Students can reinforce learning using the biomolecule comparison chart and crossword puzzles.Teacher keys are included.
