Product Description
A three-week activity where students bury objects made of different materials in a container of soil to determine if these materials can be broken down by biodegradation. The mass of each object is measured before and after and a nice graph can be plotted from the results. Students can discover that man-made materials are often not biodegradable while organic materials can decay quickly. The activity is completely described and result tables, graph paper, and an activity worksheet are provided.

Here is another three-week Biodegradation Experiment where students discover the importance of water and oxygen on biodegradation.
