This launch of "Biodiversity Bingo" focuses on a Temperate Deciduous forest, found in the majority Eastern US. If you are not sure if your location is a match, please see this Biome Map
or ask me =)
This is the CITY LIVING edition! Fine-tuned for urban areas (those who do not have a forest near their school). If you are looking for the rural edition you can find it here
Please keep in mind that the two are very similar. One is designed for cities and the other is designed for more rural towns.
There are 5 traditional 5 x 5 Bingo Cards (so if you have 20 students 4 of them will have identical cards). I distribute a small strip of stickers for my students to use but if they aren't available a magic marker will do! You can also print the on card stock, laminate them, and use china markers!
I have found that this is a great activity for getting students to explore and it covers a range of ages.
There are also 8 analysis questions included.
I love getting my students outdoors, digging in dirt, poking under rocks and exploring and you will, too!
Some of the organisms listed are white oak, black oak, maple trees, pine trees, robins, earthworms, dogs, flowers, grasshoppers, ladybugs, pigeons.
