This graphic organizer is an excellent way to bring creativity into the classroom. Students can take notes, organize their information, and use visuals to help concrete science topics such as biodiversity. The way I use the box at the top is for students to create their own definition of biodiversity and then discuss as a class.
This graphic organizer pairs great with the TedEd video "Why is biodiversity so important?"
The critical thinking question at the bottom allows students to explore real life applications and importance of biodiversity within a region.
I have students glue these notes into their interactive science notebook and early finishers can color, which even as middle school students, they love! Print and scale to 85% to fit into composition notebook.
