This resource contains two
biographies on Genghis Khan, the founder and first Great Khan of the Mongol Empire.
The first biography describes the myth surrounding Khan's birth, speficially that he was destined to be a great ruler. The biography goes on to describe Khan's early life of poverty and his eventual rise to power within the Mongol Empire.
The second biography describes Khan's consolidation of power and military conquests throughout northern Asia and southeastern Europe. Additionally, the biography describes Khan's attitude towards religious tolerance and his activities in reforming Mongol/Chinese government.
Each biography also includes a series of questions based on the reading.
In using this in my own class room, students are encouraged to:
1. Number the paragraphs
2. Read the biography
3. Highlight answers in the reading
4. Use complete sentences.
Answer keys for each biography demonstrate these steps.
You can, of course, purchase these biographies separately, but I am offering them together here at a discount
. I am sure you will find these a valuable addition to your curriculum.
Finally, you can also purchase the biographies as part of a general series I have posted on TpT: Biographies in World History
