This product contains four short biographies on Enlightenment thinkers and their ideas about the nature of government. The collection includes Niccolo Machiavelli, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Charles de Montesquieu.
Each biography also includes a series of questions based on the reading.
In using this in my own class room, students are encouraged to:
1. Number the paragraphs
2. Read the biography
3. Highlight answers in the reading
4. Use complete sentences.
The answer key demonstrates these steps.
Purchased separately, the biographies would total $8; I am offering them as a bundle for $7. I am sure you will find these a valuable addition to your curriculum.
You might also consider a mini-unit I have uploaded. This unit includes a PowerPoint and graphic organizer, biographies on the philosophers discussed (with the exception of Jean-Jacques Rousseau), and two types of assessments. Simply visit my store and search for "Mini Unit: Theories of Government."
I hope you enjoy this product as much as I do. Please feel free to browse the store for other products related to US History, World History, and Government.
