This is a neat project that your students will love.
First, they need to read a biography. They will use the components in this download, wrapping paper, and a recycled cereal box to create their Biography Boxes. They will choose five items that symbolize the person and place them inside the box. Lastly, they will give a presentation of their report and an explanation of the five items they chose.
Create a portrait of the person (goes on the front of the box).
Complete the Book Report (goes on the back of the box) by telling: when and where this person was born, his or her greatest achievements, an explanation as to why the person was well-known, interesting facts about the person, and an explanation as to why they think the author chose that person to write about.
On the sides of the box, students will explain: something they learned about the childhood of the person, what influences later shaped them as adults, and their opinions of the book (what they liked best and least).
A rubric is included with the download.
