Biography project on the iPad features QR codes for researching biographies of any famous figure in history, graphic organizers, and directions for using free apps to create a timeline and a talking biography video!

Easily integrate free iPad® mobile digital device apps into your reading, writing, or social studies block. This packet includes a project to make a timeline as well as a video for any famous historical figure using the iPad. The perfect companion to a biography unit or also works a stand-alone multimedia project.
Students will research on the web via one of the 4 research mats, then choose a historical figure. While reading about their person, students will use the timeline planning sheet and biography script graphic organizer to take notes & to take save photos using the Web Image direction page.
Students will then write a short speech from their famous person’s point of view. An included project checklist helps students stay organized.
After researching and note-taking, students will use the app Popplet and step-by-step visual direction sheets to create a timeline with text and images from the iPad. Next students will use either the apps Chatterpix and included visual direction sheets to create a video making the historical figure “talk!” Students can either decorate their own historical figure using the included body outline or use a picture from the web. The "Recording - Quiet Please" sign in the packet can be displayed when students record their videos.
Both the timeline and video will be stored on the camera roll for students to upload and share how you see fit.

You will need the free app TimeLine by Read Write Think and the free app TACU or Chatterpix. QR codes to get the apps from the App Store® online store is included in the packet.
