This short biography on Thomas Jefferson focuses on his role in the creation of the first political parties in the United States, his 1801 Inaugural Address, during which he called for Federalists and Republicans to unite, and his crowning achievement, the purchase of the Louisiana Territory in 1803.
The biography includes a series of questions based on the reading.
In using this in my own class room, students are encouraged to:
1. Number the paragraphs
2. Read the biography
3. Highlight answers in the reading
4. Use complete sentences.
The answer key demonstrates these steps.
