This document contains a fun activity for reviewing evolution concepts, vocabulary and people! The page is set up in a way so that all you need to do is print and either fold the "cards" just as they are or cut them and glue them onto index cards. The hard work has already been done for you!
How does it work? Pick a student, any student! They will start by reading the "Who has" question. Another student will answer with the appropriate "I have" answer and then they will ask the class their "Who has" question. If done correctly, this will continue until the original student answers the final question with their "I have" answer!
Spice it up! Do you have multiple periods/blocks of the same class? I like to turn it into a friendly competition between the classes by recording how long it takes for the class to get through the set correctly. If I'm feeling extra nice, I let them have a practice round first and then make them switch cards for the competition round :) Students must stay on their toes and listen carefully (which means they are reviewing and they don't even know it!).
BONUS: I have also included in this document an Evolution Unit Study Guide which illustrates what students should know, understand and be able to do in order to demonstrate mastery of the standard.
Topics covered: Evolution, Theory, Charles Darwin, Finches, Evidence, Homologous Structures, Analogous Structures, Vestigial Structures, Fossils, Relative Dating, Absolute Dating, Endosymbiotic Theory, Gradualism, Punctuated Equilibrium, Cladograms, Antibiotic Resistance...and more!
